About the Band
Brothers EP out now, buy from:
Southend based Youth Club are brothers Danny and Joe on guitar and almost brothers Gerarrd on vocals and Rees on drums. They’re all good friends who’ve been writing music together for years and launched Youth Club to the public in mid 2013. When they play live they’re joined by Silas on electronic keys and BV’s and Davey on bass.
They first caught people’s attention in May 2014 when they self released their debut EP ‘Colours’. It stormed the official independent singles charts reaching No. 25 and charted at No. 7 in the iTunes alternative charts. They are the first unsigned Essex band to officially chart right next to Adele.
Exciting times are ahead as they signed to Lab Records and released their second EP ‘Brothers’ on 1st Feb 2015.
Inspired by summer and all things colourful, the band are not confined by the boundaries of any particular genre but draw influence from many styles; soulful vocals, pop choruses, synths and warm guitars - the authentic sound of summer.
Youth Club's crisp production could have come from Phillipe Zdar’s mixing board, and could see the band mistaken for long lost brothers of Phoenix or Two Door Cinema Club; a testament to the bands sound.
